Recently, the press is flooded with the warnings related to China rising as economic and military power; see the typical titles on the left, including a respectable The Economist. Somehow, in a public eye, as China is emerging as No.1 here and there, it becomes evident that the process may continue to everywhere.

A world with USA being overall No.1 sounds nice, at least to Americans, but what’s wrong with China being overall No.1? Western social analysts admit that Chinese show a passion for education and self-improvement - along with remarkable capacity for discipline and hard work - but that China still must become a more open and democratic society. The map below shows how world power players were introducing liberty and democracy into China from 1842 to 1911. Well, not the greatest blueprint in history.
