the road to happiness Fact: all our plants, bushes and trees, all of them don’t look as good as they did last year. Question: why above fact makes me unhappy? Answer (an attempt): it’s in my character to always strive to better, to achieve more of the good if not better. Corollary (another attempt) : I predominantly compare the time being with my wishes, not with the past. The attitude is unfortunate, it is not a road to happiness. Definitely not. Take a look on the photos, try to imagine how much wisdom and effort I’ve invested into plants around our driveway seven years ago and recognize the beauty of nowadays posture. So, why I’m unhappy just because this year, for the weather conditions outside human control, my plants don’t look as good as they did last year? |
