who is more elegant, He or She ? It’s not easy to define elegance. Just think of it. A theorem exhibits mathematical elegance if it is surprisingly simple yet effective, they say. Similarly, a computer algorithm is elegant if it uses a small amount of code to great effect. In everyday life, however, elegance primarily comes in the statements related to fashion and appearance in general, refinement, grace and beauty in movement or manners. And when we extend the concept to animals, plants, and all objects for that matter, some essential components of the concept may be recognized: simplicity, symmetry and a restrain of massing and layering, small number of colors and a restrain of "arrogant" colors. Three pairs of cardinals are regular visitors at our bird feeder. I consider She (below,on the left) is more elegant than He. But don’t ask me to explain it. I just feel that way.
