Garden sage in our Boulder garden.

The day before yesterday was my birthday.

Yesterday was my birthday. Iím not going to tell you how old I was because I hate being that old but I will tell you itís plenty. When anyone comes up to me and says, "Happy Birthday", I just look them in the eye and I say, "You must be kidding".

What in the world is there to be happy about being a year older? Age is a defect which we never get over. The only thing worse than having another birthday is not having another one.

Thereís nothing wrong with being my age. I feel fine. I love working. I love playing. I love life. The bad thing about it is, Iím constantly aware that there isnít much of it left.
