Starting from 2002, Reporters Without Borders are publishing the worldwide index of countries according to their respect for press freedom. The graphs below correlate the 2005 data with the gross national income (GNI) per capita and country average IQ for 152 countries. They are not intended as a proof of any particular relationship. On the contrary, it is just a search for a meaning in any one of them.

Reporters Without Borders index 2005 vs. GNI and IQ

GNI data are from World Bank statistics (http://siteresources.worldbank.org/DATASTATISTICS/Resources/GNIPC.pdf) and IQ data are those of Prof. Richard Lynn (http://www.rlynn.co.uk/pages/article_intelligence/t4.asp) plus some corrections and updates based on the article and links in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_and_the_Wealth_of_Nations), e.g. for Serbia as this country recently went through various state conglomerations.

See analogous graphs for the  Corruption Perception Index  (CPI) of the Transparency International.
