color : brown. Brown is among my favorite colors. I recall how in nineteen-sixties, when I did a lot of nature photos, I was disappointed in the Kodak film: it did beautiful blue skies and waters but I was missing brown features. The Agfa film did better as far as brown was the issue - but then I was missing those blue skies. Now, with the digital painting in my website, I have again problems with the brown color(s), particularly if I stay within the limits of so called "safe web colors". In the table below I’ve collected the digital codes for the shades of brown from various sources (and cited them under their names; some of them I actually would not consider to be brown); the right side of the table brings the "safe web" replacement as suggested by the Adobe Photoshop 9.0.2; they might all be "web safe" but not all of them qualify as brown.
