Shtambukism
The
arrogant behavior of the Croatian catholic church continues. Last
week Croatian bishop Štambuk
in his public address declared that Croatia is a catholic state and
next president should be a Catholic. Well, as for the ‘catholic
state’, bishop Štambuk
is either an ignoramus or a liar. Croatia is a secular state by the
Article 41 of its Constitution. Then, as for the ‘president should
be a Catholic’, this is a public call for discrimination and it is
punishable by the laws of Croatian state.
Š tambuk’s
cackle sounds somewhat like a reply to the recent public address of
Croatian president Mesić in which he asked the Croatian catholic
church to slow down in its drive for social dominance in the
Croatian society and to restrain itself in the grab for political
power in the Croatian state. President Mesić specifi- cally asked
Croatian catholic church to show some tolerance for non- Catholics.
Bishop Štambuk
theatrically asked a rhetorical question "Oh, oh, what is
tolerance?". He didn’t answer the question, theatrically or
otherwise. Then again, that’s understandable, he doesn’t know
what tolerance is, he is a catholic bishop.
By
the way, Štambuk’s
first or given name (also doubled as christian name) is Slobodan. I’ve
never heard of ‘Slobodan’ as a christian name - it must be a
novelty for the newborn Catholics. It is not a Croatian name either,
I believe.
